Hello everyone,

I'm a 27 year old male living in Brisbane, Australia. I joined this site because I suffer from anxiety/depression and I figured getting involved with a supportive community is probably a really good idea. Plus, there's no better reward in life than helping others so I figured joining will also create opportunities for me to offer help and advice to others who mightn't have pieced as many pieces of the life puzzle together as me... haha... although I'm nowhere near finished myself.

Today, I resigned from my high pressure sales role within a massive global company (which I actually really liked!) to take a step to the side in life and seek medical assistance to sort my anxiety out once and for all. I hope that I will make some really supportive friends in here who are looking to gain a really supportive friend back.

I won't go too far into my condition just yet as I'm just saying hello and I'm, of course, slightly reserved about posting a massive emotional post as my introduction, but in summary - I haven't been able to commit to a job for a while now because of my condition, well... that applies to most things in life, relationships don't work for me and these days I'm just avoiding them because I know at some point my anxiety is going to cause issues, my diet is up shyte creek and my sleeping pattern is quite random. I have analysed these scenarios and have concluded I have an problem and I need help to get to the bottom of it.

So - you will probably see me around replying to some topics I feel I can offer support on - this means I want you as my friend! Please don't be shy to drop me a pm, even just for a chat =)

hello there CaptainSam as you have come to realise pressure and anxiety don't mix too well. welcome to the forum. what you say regarding commitment i struggle with also. i don't have any quick fixes. just be mindful of the negatives in your life. you have taken the first step towards this! we live in a crazy world and i cant help thinking that a normal response to the craziness is anxiety!

Hi Sam. I'm new here to. And I'm a pretty good listener! I have dealt with social anxiety all my life and have recently been able to overcome it a bit. I'm getting better at it anyway. If ever you need to talk i am here!
