When I decided to get help back in 2000 for my psychiatric issues, one of the first things I learned from a psychiatrist whom I was seeing at the time was about the runners high. He explained to me what it was, and recommended it to me, since I was dealing with serious issues with depression at the time.

When someone is feeling depressed, getting aerobic exercise, such as going out for a run or even a walk around their neighborhood, can boost certain chemicals (neurotransmitters) in the brain, which can give them an emotional high.

The runners high is subtle. You won't get a super terrific emotional high from it. But it can help lift you emotionally if you're having a blue and depressed day. It often works for me. Maybe it could help you.

This is an excellent tip! At first, running is awful. Let's not sugar coat it. If you're out of shape, running sucks. But, if you can force yourself to stick with it and run a little further each day, it gets easier. Just like anything else. Then, once you hit that high that Mike is talking about... look out! I haven't been running lately. But, I used to. I need to get back into it.

Yes, I do running everyday!
It brings a happiness inside, help me stay fit, calms brain and give a relaxed feeling.
