When I decided to get help back in 2000 for my psychiatric issues, one of the first things I learned from a psychiatrist whom I was seeing at the time was about the runners high. He explained to me what it was, and recommended it to me, since I was dealing with serious issues with depression at the time.
When someone is feeling depressed, getting aerobic exercise, such as going out for a run or even a walk around their neighborhood, can boost certain chemicals (neurotransmitters) in the brain, which can give them an emotional high.
The runners high is subtle. You won't get a super terrific emotional high from it. But it can help lift you emotionally if you're having a blue and depressed day. It often works for me. Maybe it could help you.
