Hey,I have been having panic attacks for about 6 months now I'd have one maybe once every 2 weeks..but now I find I have serious trouble with sleeping,I haven't had any proper sleep in close to 2 weeks now,I try go to bed to sleep but as soon as I shut my eyes everything gets weird,I get a strange wave of emotions pass over me that are very hard to explain I also get dizzy lightheaded shortness of breath and heart palpitations..I really don't want to go to the doc and ask for sleeping pills to rely on sleep I've tried other things in very active play soccer on the weekends go to the gym and swim all week I've also started eating better and cut out alcohol but still no joy in getting rid of these physical feeling that my anxiety gives me trying to sleep..I'm just wondering if anyone else has suffered in the same way and if they have or how they overcame it?? Thanks

If you search the internet for "sleep hygiene" you will find some suggestions that may help with sleep. Some people find that tea, such as chamomile or passionflower, help to induce sleep. And then there are various medications, some of them OTC and others prescription. I have used a variety of these things -- lifestyle, tea, and various meds. I don't want to get in the habit of using sleep meds regularly, but on occasion I don't mind. It is better than not getting any sleep, which is not good for your health.*

I almost have the same problem whenever I want to sleep I can't because I feel like I am dizzy or just get a panic attack... I get panic attacks daily and I twitch and everything and I really need some help my parents won't take me to the doctor because they don't believe its serious...

Hey sorry to hear that, you definetly need to get to the doctor bro,I went this morning because I had another bad attack and the doc put me on 10ml of escitalopram to help me with it,I've been on them before and the do help but can take a few weeks to start working, your parents should take this seriously it's not a phase your going through that only way to get better is with help as it affects your sleep and daily life..you can tell them about how I had to go the docs for help, failing that let them see you having a panic attack the next time you have one, then they'll see its serious

Yah I would say that nearly on a daily basis I would feel dizzy,I've never felt nauseous but I have heard of people feeling that way..my aniexty seems to be health related and makes me fear something is wrong physically..how old are you?could you not go to the doctors by yourself?

To you feel you suffer from depression or aniexty?..it does sound like the symptoms of aniexty and panic attack, but I am no doctor I just speaking from my experience with my a aniexty..I am real sorry your parents don't take it serious man, that's rough, there are coping techniques that if you research might be able to help you..would you have another family member or relative who might understand a bit better and consider what you say as important?

I am pretty sure I am suffering from Anxiety I don't see any reason I should be suffering through depression.. I am talking to a really nice girl atm so I hope thats ruled out! Some of my friends know about my panic attacks and they just tell me not to worry but I keep worrying!
