Hi! I'm Victoria. I'm 18 years young and I suffer debilitating anxiety. High school was hell for me, I skipped class due to my anxiety. I can't go anywhere without my mom, I have insane amounts of trouble talking to people. I am borderline agorophobic. I need help. I don't want to waste the rest of my life living like this. 10 years of therapy and meds hasn't helped quite as much as it should.

Someone bounce ideas off with me?

Hi Misanthropica, Welcome and i am sure as you cruise around you will get some help. There are some really good folks on here. You may want to type in some keywords into the search box and do some reading or you can always ask questions. I have one question, have you had the same therapist for the last 10 years and what types of meds have they tried? Help ya get the ball rollin.

Thank you, I hope to get to know everyone.

I've had about eight different therapists I'd say. Because I've moved and because I didn't like some of them.
And wow, I've been on a lot. I'm currently on lithium, risperdal, gabapentin and thyroid meds. I've been on lamictal, geodon, Prozac, buspar, Effexor, Pristiq, lexapro. To name a few. My body gets used to meds really fast so I end up having to change often.

Wow, and none of them worked? dont hesitate to ask specific questions if you have them but give it some time the forum has been somewhat slow recently.

They did work but only for a while. I get used to things after a few months so it stops working. And alright thank you! I will. Also I have bad reactions to them. I lamictal gave me an awful rash, geodon made me sleep for 20 hours a day. Effexor made my anxiety way way worse. I just have a bad run I suppose.

Hi there, I can relate to your school experience. My anxiety started around the age of 12, thus effecting my social and educational development. I'm now 23 and turning to this forum for inspiration. Welcome and hope you, like myself, move in the right direction.
