I've recently increased my dose of Effexor to 262.5 and I think it was starting to do the trick. I've always taken generic but I was running low so I ordered more and when I started talking the new ones I ordered I started feeling like crap. I'm more anxious now and wake up with very fast heart beat. Everyone says oh it's the same thing. I know the medicine is the same but it's a different company and distributer. Pill looks different. Can that cause me to feel bad again?

I spent the better part of 10 years on Effexor. If you have recently increased your dosage, then what you are feeling doesn't seem to off as your body is adjusting to the new dosage.

I have heard of people doing well with either the brand name or the generic, then when switched had some issues. If what you are feeling makes you uncomfortable , I would speak to the prescribing physician. They can specify brand name or generic on the prescription, whichever you tolerate better.

Good luck, I am glad however that this med is doing the trick!
