Hi, I haven't been diagnosed formally but I've had bouts with symptoms of both anxiety and depression. I hadn't had any symptoms for a year, and all of a sudden about a month ago, I started getting symptoms again! This time they're slightly different, and I'm wondering if anyone here can tell if these symptoms sound more like depression or anxiety (or a combo of both)? I have strong feelings of sadness and hopelessness that come and go, and I go through crying spells that any small thing can set off, then it goes away . I get offended at small stuff too, and there's no real reason to be put off. It's only been in the last month or so, but coincidentally, this has been a stressful month with work and I just came off a solid week of nonstop business activity. Might this have exacerbated the symptoms? Input appreciated! :)

I'm not a doctor but what you described sounds like it could be depression. I've had both anxiety and depression for several years so I'm pretty familiar with the signs and symptoms. Stress can exacerbate or trigger symptoms of anxiety or depression.

Hi there. Those symptoms sound like symptoms of depression. Being overwhelmed or busy can definitely heighten the symptoms. I hope you are able to take some time to rest and be relieved of your symptoms. It can be difficult being so sensitive, especially when being so busy.
Take care

I can't say exactly about this two but according to me, anxiety and depression are interlinked to each other. Because, anxiety causes stress and more stress and tension creates depression. The reason for this can be anything. It is better to remain calm and be positive to deal with all this problem. If you are unable to do this, it is better to take some medications to have a control over it.

You have a normal depression, that may be due to stress and tension.. It can be controlled easily with some good meds and right professional help..
Go meet a doc.

it's anxiety more than depression that makes you set off by any small thing. it's not depression i am sure depression happens from long time anxiety because i suffer from both but the trigger was too much anxiety because there was nothing in my life to get me depressed

i would recommend that you get a blood test and check on your health because a deficiency of vitamin d3 or hypothyroidism can cause depression and anxiety

Sometimes anxiety doesn't go by itself by relaxing and you keep thinking what is wrong with me but in fact it's your body who is complaining. if you can't relax on your own when you take a day or two off work and go have some fun with friends, then it's most probably some imbalance in your hormones or vitamins
