Hi Kayla,

Ok, I understand where you are. It's very unpleasant. But not uncommon. Actually it is more common than you may realize.

What type of medicine did the doctor give you? I know a fair bit about different meds so I might be able to calm your fears about taking it.

One thing you would be well advised to learn is something called diaphragmatic breathing. It is a way to breathe when you are anxious and panicking, that helps calm your nervous system. It takes practice but it works well. So Google diaphragmatic breathing or yoga breathing and you will be able to learn how to do it.

Lastly, you need to believe that this will end and you will be ok.

Cheers!

Medications can actually be really helpful. They can enable to you feel better and get beyond the sense of being "in a crisis." Then you can work with a psychiatrist or a therapist to address your feelings and become happier and less anxious.

Pam (Needingtogetwell) is right -- many people have been through what you are going through. It is not fun. But if you are willing to trust your doctors and be open to getting some help, you can get better and have an enjoyable and fulfilling life.

I took some medications and got some therapy and while I am not 100% free from anxiety, I am certainly doing a lot better. You can do the same thing.
