Anyone have experience with this? I switched from Lexapro to Paxil two weeks ago, and while I have been feeling better, I had a bout with anxiety/panic last night. When I previously switched from Zoloft to Lexapro in the same fashion, I didn't experience any breakthrough anxiety; after a few days I was simply back to normal. Obviously there is a startup phase with any SSRI, but since the serotonin levels are already regulated, should I expect to still have breakthrough anxiety for the first month or so? I ask because, as I stated, it didn't happen during the previous switch.
Also, does anyone have experience in splitting Paxil into two doses, morning and night? Is there any benefit? I used to do this with Zoloft (under doctor supervision, of course).
Thanks.
It sounds like a side effect
you can be calm :)
Howover you also can call to the physician just for ask

I switched from Lexapro to Prozac a week ago and feel pretty normal. I don't think you get half as much anxiety when you switch as when you start these meds because they're all fairly similar.

When I was trying out SSRIs a couple years ago, my doctor would switch my meds within a day of taking the other one. The only time I had to withdrawal was if I switched to something that wasn't an SSRI.
I never had luck with SSRIs anyways, but doing the switch this way never caused problems.

The first time that I went from one ad to another without cross tapering was last fall when I went from Lexapro to Cymbalta. I didn't really experience any huge changes in how I felt.

Well, currently at the 4 week mark, and I'm feeling worse than ever. I had been feeling good with some minor ups and downs, but yesterday I fell into bad depression along with panic. I haven't felt this bad in years. I typically can overcome the anxiety if my mood is good, but this added depression is making it impossible. I'm really at a very low point. Logically, it would seem the dose of Paxil might be too low, but I'm wondering if maybe this isn't the drug for me. Like I said earlier, I switched from Zoloft to Lexparo and felt better within three days, never looking back. This is a month on Paxil and I feel worse than I did when I was on Lexapro.

By a month in things shouldn't be this bad for you. Go back to doctor and try something else. Effexor helped me.

Effexor worked for me as well after a few failed attempts at others. Stick with it. Will be worth it
Effexor acts faster than the others as well by a few weeks
