Although I have heard of some weight gain on meds, I don't believe it blows too may people up like a tick

Cut your workout to 3 times per week and change your routine. Not sure of your routine but things plateau after a bit if you haven't changed things

Are you doing more cardio or doing more lifting?

I do more weights and a bit of cardio .. And run 3 miles once a week on top of that ? Hmm...

When I would plateau, especially when cutting, I would move to progressions

In cardio, for example, quick walk for 2 minutes then sprint for 30 seconds and repeat as many times as you like

With lifting, set of 6 to exertion, then set of 50 doing the same exercise with 30% of the weight

I would do this for 6 weeks starting the first week of April

Great results

As much as I completely agree with Nixon's advice, because switching it up could really help..

some of these meds are notorious for weight gain. =/

I'd talk to your doctor if changing your routine fails on ya.

When I was put on psychiatric meds for the first time back in 2000, I gained a lot of weight in a rather short period of time. I gained over 70 lbs. over a twelve month period.

However, I find that when I stick to a healthy diet, I'm able to lose weight, even though I'm still on meds that are supposed to make me gain weight.

Yes, I gained like 20 pounds when I increased LExapro from 10 to 20, I have more carb cravings than I used to. SUCKS. I wonder if you can lower your dose or try a new med..... I wanted to lower mine, but I remember how bad my anxiety was......

I was on Propanolol & some other Blood Pressure tablets for around 10 yrs and I definitely gained weight.
Stopped taking them both a couple of years ago, and now all my jeans are too big!

I think people have a hard time believing someone from the OC can gain weight. Everyone there's just so sexy. If we voted hottest AF chick, you'd win hands down cos you're from Orange County.

But yeah, the AD weight gain sucks. I gained 30lbs on Remeron. Not an SSRI so I don't bring it up, but I know how depressing putting on the pounds can be. Thankfully it all came off really easily when I quit.

HAHHA, you are now on my christmas card list! : D I appreciate you sharing your experience, I think I will cut down. I was ok when I was on half the dose. But being numb to most anxiety is a hard trade off.

Well it's my birthday in a couple of weeks. You don't even have to wait until Christmas to send me a card!!!

That's what sucks, having to choose between anxiety and weight gain. What an horrific choice to have to make. :-/

I can relate to you a little bit!

One pill I took, Zoloft, that actually helped me A LOT.. even the smallest dose made lose weight like crazy. And no the good kind "Oh I'm skinny" weight loss, more like, sickly skinny crack head look.. I had to stop taking it.

Those pills can effect everyone so differently! It sucks when it comes to your weight.. Like.. Do I want anxiety or do I want self confidence? lol

Ya know, I recalled the torment, and I am going to stay with the meds for now. At least I can function being a little thick.

I hope you have a great Birthday when it gets here!
