I have been on a low dose of Celexa for 5 years after 6 months of severe anxiety at the beginning of college. Two months ago the anxiety came back full force. I met with a doc and I tried upping my dose of Celexa a few time before deciding it was no longer working for me. I switched over to 20mg of Lexapro and have been having a rough time. I just finished week three and am feeling very foggy, hazy, and fatigued. I had really only experienced anxiety before but now it feels like i'm beginning to feel depressed as well. I have ups and down throughout the day and don't feel like myself. Can this happen when starting Lexapro, especially at a high dose? I'm really hoping that I begin to feel better and can stick with it. has anyone else had a similar experience?

Hi there,
I haven't been on Celexa but I'm pretty sure it's another SSRI. So switching from one to another shouldn't be nearly as hard as actually starting one. These meds are all fairly similar. I'd tell the doc and try something else if it just doesn't agree with you.
Cheers,

Although both medications are belong to the SSRI group there is a possible to the side effects of the Lexapro because its a little stronger Medication with the side effects (In genreal the Celexa its the medcation with fewer side effects than each medication of SSRI) than the so its ok and normal who you feel those side effects .
You also can call to the physician and talk with him about those rough feelings .
Meanwhile try to being calmer :)
