Hi I'm Sally. I have had anxiety for a number of years and find it's worse when I'm at work. I'm looking to meet people who understand and also if anyone has any tips or things they have tried that work i'd love to hear that.

Hi Sally, welcome to the forum.
Work seems to be the place where my anxiety issues tend to come out too. I understand.
What type of work do you do? Do you like your job?
Do you have any skills you use to combat the anxiety when it appears?
I know, a bunch of questions but they will help us get a better feel of how we can help you or guide you.
Cheers!

Hi Sally. Welcome. One useful step is trying to figure out what is causing your anxiety. If you know what the cause/trigger is, sometimes there are practical things you can do to minimize it.

Hi Sally!!
My anxiety is also ALWAYS worse at work. It's not even because of anything specific going on.. I think I just hate being there :P
The thing that helps the most is just keeping myself busy and my mind occupied, and yes ON work stuff... It sounds strange but it actually helps. The less time I have to think the better.
Good luck!

The things that have helped me the most is medication and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. CBT involves challenging negative thoughts you might be having associated with the anxiety. First you write down your automatic thoughts when you feel anxious. Then you write down a challenge to that thought, or a balanced thought that is more realistic to whatever you are worrying about. This helps me alot because I tend to think negatively without even realizing it.
