Hi everyone, I'm gonna go by 'JoiningYou' on here .. my favourite song by my favourite singer, not a very imaginative name but hey.

I'm 21 and I live in England and I work in a school, however since December I have hardly worked and have been diagnosed with severe depression, social anxiety, anxiety and a panic disorder. I've just been prescribed cotalopram today which I will start taking tomorrow and thought I'd join to communicate with others who understand me and who I can understand and hopefully be able to document my 'recovery' and improvement and see others do the same which would be so incredible.

I hope you are all feeling well today and I look forward to becoming a prolific user on the forum hopefully!

Hi Joiningyou and welcome.

There are so many here who completely understand what it is like to suffer from exactly the same conditions you do. You certainly are not alone on this journey.

Good for you starting meds, they certainly help many. Keep in mind that those type of meds take some time to work, stick with it. After a couple of weeks you should start to feel a little better.

Post whatever questions you may have, nothing is silly or too trivial to post. We are here to help.

Needtogetwell thank you! I start them today, I'll be picking them up in the next hour and I am actually excited to hopefully having a feeling of being able to 'cope' more and look forward to being able to communicate this with others who may be starting up and learning from others on here!
