As a general question, what do you feel like and how do you know when an SSRI is working? What is a reasonable expectation?
As I've mentioned in other threads, I've been taking Lexapro for a while now (6 days at 5 mg and just starting week 6 at 10 mg). At first I had ups and downs, but definite ups where I felt focused and good. More recently I haven't had many of those experiences and have been feeling more down and still experiencing regular anxiety that is fairly intense. Not panic attacks (I only ever had one or two of those) but intense anxiety which I can't even tell if its better or worse than before starting the meds. I would say it's less frequent. I would consider increasing the dose (under Dr.'s instructions) except I have terrible insomnia that may be due to the Lexapro.
