Given that I have an anxiety disorder I'm finding it very hard not to focus and all the side effects and scary stuff. I took my first zoloft about twelve hours ago. At first I felt never yet very mellow, a tad jittery too. Now I'm having slight chest pains and feel very scared and sad. Has anyone else experienced this? Just what can I expect just starting out

Yes. You are experiencing a panic attack because you are expecting your Zoloft to work immediately. Zoloft takes a week or two to work. You need to be on it regularly before the SSRI can take effect. My mother's started working within a few days. It varies on the individual.

You will be fine. If you feel the need, consult your physician for some medicine that works immediately to relieve panic attacks until your Zoloft takes effect.
