Hello everyone:

A quick summary about me... anxiety/panic, OCD, depression since childhood. Was on Zoloft 150 and Seroquel 75 daily for about eight years, then it stopped working. Switched to Lexapro 20 and increased Seroquel to 150 two years ago, basically overnight. Within a few days I was back to normal and remained so for about two years.

About six weeks ago I had a panic episode and suddenly got severely depressed. Increased Lexapro to 25 for three weeks, then to 30, and the Seroquel to 200. Been on that dose for about three weeks. Was again feeling normal until last night, when I had panic attack out of the blue and got depressed again. I was optimistic the Lex increase would do the trick, as it seemed to be working, but considering how I feel now, I'm not so sure. After being on meds for 15+ years, I can kind of tell when they aren't working to their effectiveness, and I fear that might be the case now. Doc says next step is a switch to Paxil. Any thoughts?

I find SSRIs are good at the start for getting me out of a bad episode but they don't really prevent anxiety/depression, if that makes sense. Upping them has never done much for me. You pretty much have to work on non-medication techniques as well to combat anxiety/depression.
