Hello everyone,

Although the title of this thread says I'm new to anxiety, in reality I think I'm just new to recognising that I'm an anxious person.

My story started in earnest December 23rd 2014 when I was in the shower and suddenly felt I couldn't breathe. I ended up at the ER that day and then 3 more times in the next 6 days with the same issues.

I won't bore you with details, but I've been to therapy for a few months, learned a lot about myself and feel like I have much more insight into who I am.

I don't pretend to have this figured out. I still battle it on a daily basis, but I have found success for myself with certain things.

I have a blog and a YouTube channel about my anxiety journey which I won't be promoting on here (unless people ask) because I hate spammers and I genuinely want to interact, learn and share whatever I can. Far too many people have anxiety and don't talk about it, so I would love for this to be a place where I can help, and be helped.

Thanks for listening.

Glad you joined us. Have a look around the General forum. You could probably help some others here, since you have managed to make some progress. You will see folks here in many different stages of dealing with anxiety -- from those new to it and feeling like they're in crisis, to people like you who have made some progress but still working on it, to those who have been dealing with anxiety for decades, and then a few who claim to have been "cured" or to have found the magic bullet. Welcome.

Hello and welcome :)

I fit into Kuma's third category - dealing with anxiety for decades (no magic bullet here). Hope to see you around.

Cheers,
