Hello all -- I'm spiracle.

I don't have a specific diagnosis but I experience anxiety of some sort for sure. I've sought help for mental health more than once before but each time there was something other than anxiety that was focused on (severe depression at one point; diagnosis of very mild autism) and except for antidepressants which I stopped taking a long while back, didn't get that much help. Now my main problems are anxiety-related and I'll be going back soon to try and get better help with this. I'm ready to try just about anything. My main problem seems to be social anxiety but I am in general a person who gets anxious very easily. For a while other problems were so overwhelming that it didn't seem so significant but now I realise just how much it is impacting most aspects of my life (a lot.)

I live in the UK, love tea and cats and all the typical things, but my deeper interests tend to be more unusual, and in day to day life I can't talk to people. Though I'm relatively young, I've already been a recluse before, mostly not leaving the house for about two years.

Anyway, this forum looks good and I hope to share here and learn. Thank you for reading~ have a good day.

Nice username. Does it have a story?

I just replied to one of your posts, so I won't rattle on here too and bore you.

I just wanted to say hi, and yay for UK and cats.

Hi Spiracle and welcome :)

I live in Australia and love tea but not cats.

Thank you both for the welcome :)

jessed03, it doesn't have that much of a story - the usernames I pick out for websites tend to be fairly random, but words I like and which have a loose association with myself, the theme of the website, or both. I was learning about spiracles in insects the other day and liked the word, so it came to mind when picking out a username for this forum.

gypsylee, Australia has always seemed to me a very interesting place. Are there other animals you have a preference for, or are you generally not an animal lover?

So far this forum seems very helpful; I'm glad to have found it.
