Sertraline

Today marks my 4th day taking .25 mg of sertraline. I take it at night and the first two days weren't TERRIBLE, but day 3 and 4 have been full of severe anxiety, nauseas to the point I can't eat, and two panic attacks. Also, I feel "off" like I don't feel like I'm myself. I Have an 1mg ativan but it doesn't seem to help much. I'm debating if I should keep taking it tonight or come off of it?? Any thoughts? Helpful tips??

hi, I would try to contact your psych doctor and tell them how your feeling and what you should do. That med didnt work for me. I had to take ativan for a few weeks while waiting for the Cymbalta to kick in. Now I take Cymbalta 60 mil, am off the ativan and take Gabapentin 3x's per day, 300 mil each.

Thanks for the responses. My doc started me out on Paroxetine and it had worse effects. It concerns me that this is the second Ssri I've tried and neither have fit, but I read that some people try many before getting it right.

Unfortunately the first two weeks will be difficult. You should contact your doctor and talk about this, because meds will not work if you are not consistent with them. I took sertraline for seven years, and I remember how hard it was to start and to quit. It is actually quite normal.

All anti depressants are a little difficult for a few weeks I find, you need to give yourself permission to feel a bit worse for a few weeks. Give them time
