Well let me introduce myself my name is Jocelyn. I am 17 years old and I have been dealing with a lot of depression and anxiety the last two years of my life . I haven't felt like myself in such a long time I don't know what to do anymore I feel like I'm lost and will never find myself . I tough that I would be able to fight anxiety and depression but It has total control over me . I have no friends at all I'm always by myself don't go out or do anything fun I go to work but most of the time I feel like the weirdo at my job I can't have a full on conversation with nobody not even my family members it's really sad . So if anybody has any advice it will be nice .

Hi, Jocelyn and welcome.

Sorry for what you are dealing with but you will fit in here just fine

Lots of people will help or you can just read and see how many people are, and better yet, were like you and how they now live just fine

Again, welcome. Most responses come in the General Discussion section

Hello and welcome to the forum. I am sorry to hear about your problems, I hope you will get better soon. Now, about your social anxiety, the biggest reason people struggle to overcome social anxiety is because they try to anticipate what’s going to happen.

Firstly I want to say that whenever I start a conversation, I've never really got an idea of exactly what’s going to happen. I think if you do, you really restrict yourself to what you’d imagined, and conversation that’s confined to imagination just isn't any fun!

You’ll find that when you stop doing things with an agenda, trying to gain something from someone and you start seeking to amuse yourself instead, you’ll worry a lot less about what people are thinking, because… you’re having fun!

People are like mirrors. If you start talking with a positive vibe, you’ll get that reflected back at you.

Take care and stay positive!
