Hi, I'm new to these forums. I'm 19 years old and live in London. My anxiety basically consists of not being able to be without someone else that I trust, this is mainly my boyfriend but other people can sometimes "take over". If I'm left alone I panic.

Currently I'm in therapy etc and doing a lot of practice (going away a little at a time) to get better. I'm also in an anxiety group which I've found really helpful so I figure more people can't hurt. :)

Hi, my anxiety started when I was around your age and it was very similar I panicked if I was left alone. My boyfriend at the time was also my "chosen one". It did get better though.

I'm 33 now, 2 kids and a husband. And am recently going through a bad flare up of anxiety. My husband was working away one night and it started. But as I have 2 kids on my own I HAVE to make this work when I'm on my own. So no matter how much I panic now I make myself cope with it on my own, so I can prove to myself I can, and its working. It's not pleasant but I manage to keep a lid on it ...just. The thing is we trick our minds into beleiving that we can't manage without a certain something for everyone it's different.

My counsellor gave me good advice. Imagine your anxiety is a person, and ok wherever you go it may come to but you tell yourself you're not going to let it bother you. It doesn't mean you won't have the symptoms but try and let them wash over you.
