Hi lately ive been waking up and it feels like i can feel my heart beating throughout my body. My heart rate is not really elevated but sometimes it is. I am absolutely terrified. I am seeing the doctor on Monday. I am a 16 year old male by the way with diagnosed GAD.

If you've been diagnosed with gad, the heart pounding is completely normal for someone with anxiety. I still wake to it every morning and have it occasionally throughout the day. I know that it is unpleasant and scary!! It is not always there... correct? There are times when it goes away? Some mornings are worse for me than others with my heart palpitations or heart racing, thumping, skipping, etc. Since I've been struggling with this for 25+ years or more if you count my childhood and teen years, I know this can go away. Sometimes you can find medications that help, along with coping skills that will eventually take them away for quite a while and it is a relief, however, for the time being, live in the moment and know that you can get through those feelings. Welcome them and try to ACCEPT them, knowing that they cannot hurt you. Try not to feed your fear and later in the day when you notice your heart beating normal again, you can enjoy those moments of peace. It is a cycle and you will experience it again. Know that you are strong enough to accept, release and let go, and in this way, you may feel less afraid. Best of luck to you. You are not alone.

Thank you so much what if this is happening while I'm not anxious should i be worried. I used to wake up with nausea while my anxiety was really bad. Could this be a reason?

I get that sometimes too.... the nausea. I don't necessarily feel anxious but I will have symptoms like the heart racing, etc come on in the middle of the day. It is my anxiety (at least in my case I know it is). I also will get very shaky. Again it's the anxiety and only just resurfaced b/c of an event that happened in early November. Since you'll be seeing your doctor on Monday, talk to them then and try not to worry too much about it in the meantime. It's probably related to your stress/anxiety but the doctor will be able to check you out and give you some insight. Hope this helps.

Nausea is a symptom of anxiety. I had it when I was worrying quite a lot with my health. That was 2 mobths ago. Once, 2 months ago, I vomited 3 times in a week. Ive not thrown up for at least a month now. But still get those bad thoughts......
