worried about becoming septic

I was bored and was prodding myself in a leg with a safety pin out of the sewing box, I did it like 10+ times ( don't ask why)
whats the chance of my leg becoming septic? am I just freaking out?

Not very high if you put antiseptic on it ;)

Haven't got any I used salt water though, am i being overly paranoid?

The juice of a lemon might be helpful.

Not helpful at all for controlling infection, but helpful providing a chuckle to others thinking of someone stabbing themselves in the leg on purpose with a safety! pin and then pouring lemon juice in the wound.

ps. yes, you are being overly paranoid. For 150 million years your ancestors have been crawling through thorny bushes and been getting bitten and clawed by nasty animals. And the human race has survived. Your body is designed to deal with far worse injuries than that.

Yep salt is a good antiseptic. If you're still worried go get something from the supermarket or chemist like Bepanthen (not sure where you are so might be called something else). Tattooists use this and a tattoo is like stabbing yourself with a million pins :)

Or if you're super worried go to the doctor and get antibiotics.. Or a tetanus shot ;)
