Hey everyone

I have been suffering panic, anxiety attacks for 20 years. I have been able to manage them for long time, but in Sept I woke up from a nightmare and this time my heart began racing rapidly. I have never had that happen to me before. So I went to see my family doctor and got chest xray, ekg, blood work and stress test all came back negative. so it would happen off and on a few more times. But 2 days ago it happened again but could not control the speed. so i went to a hospital and stayed there for 12hrs and had a heart machine hooked up to me, blood test etc. and had more test done there like ekg, chest xray and heart ultrasound. All test came back negative. I dont understand why I feel like this. I should be dancing instead of being a worry wart.
I am 35 years old from toronto. married with 3 children. my doctor put me on prozac but couldnt afford the the meds so I gotta wait til payday. I am depressed, angry and always worried bout something I read or whatnot.

I too have been suffering from attacks for almost 20 years-very chronic ones. The ones that are the worst are the ones that wake you up on the middle of night-so sleep is an issue which causes anxiety-its a viscous cycle. Last night I had 3 in the middle of the nights but actually got about 6 hours of sleep which is good for me cause I have insomnia. I tried to get online and try to chat with someone but nobody was online.

We might moan about the National Health Service here but the thought that someone might need medicines but has to wait until payday to get them is REALLY scary!

Hope you're feeling a bit better Scottyb79. Just practicing relaxation and mindfulness techniques will make a huge difference. Put some quality you-time into your day every few hours if necessary.

Yeah Thanks man, it is a rough road. I have tried for years to fight not taking pills, but in sept I had a nightmare and my heart began racing rapidly. Never had that issue. But spent 10 hrs in ER and all test came back Negative, the mind says one thing but the heart is not an issue.

I've been there, know exactly what it's like.

If you can, just research as much as possible about anxiety and you soon see it's actually a normal thing. When you know what's going on it's not really that scary any more and you can prepare for it and get back to having a normal life.

Well, as normal as we're going to be!
