I LOVE HIS PASSION!!!
He is the same age as me, his mothers name is the same as mine, we both endured going to a christian school and above all -> we believe in the same things! He is an amazing artist with a message so much more tangible than those who hate him. Long Live Marilyn Manson!

Glad you like it super chick :)
Immense ... is it not? - I love looking back at such moments. I know Cully - a friend and another user of this forum, knows what its like to photograph such things. If not for my camera gear, I fear I would not venture or explore as I do. But no fear, as I do have the gear ...
I make affirmation now: "Today I shall soar like a bird Up-drafting to great heights - Gracefully pull up, just short to that point of no return and look down with baited breath".

Dissatisfied with today's results - I've decided to mix the skills up somewhat, and now playing with web graphics:

Fabulous picture Dave! you can't beat getting up before the sun and every other bugger and taking pictures, my wife doesn't get why I get up so early! but when you get to witness such a fantastic sunrise there's nothing better. That is an excellent shot and as always it's a pleasure to see your pictures, this photography has become a real addiction for me. It's so good having something that you really look forward to doing in the battle against depression and I don't think it will be too long before I wear that poor camera out.
I hope you don't mind me posting a shot this was the last sunrise that I stalked, this is an estuary about a five minute walk from my house a great spot for birds.

Nice Scattering of light there cully. It warms the soul to be out under such a veil of light. This we know well - Photography offers the practitioner a special gift in experiencing the moment whilst both in the waiting and active modes - It's as every-bit as refreshing as a sitting meditation or yoga practice - for me it's even better - its all those things combined. I think it shows well in your photos cully. I know that's why I get up and seek such moments. Looking at the results and final edits - has a way of transporting one back to the experience of solace and peace that are photos often bring. Its as if you can feel the breeze and smell the air all over again - That's what happens to me when I look at mine - and also I find the same when looking at yours , although half a world away.
It keeps us in tune Cully. :) I understand why you take such shots as you do, and why you do so regularly. It's more than just building a collection - It's more about the experience of what your doing - and the reliving that comes from such close bonds to the subjects we love. It's an appreciation for every particle of light that hits the sensor, a dance that takes place as the land and nature slowly moves through the guided lens. Only just getting back into it after such a long break - makes me think just how lucky we mindful photographers have. Compared to what's on offer - on the other end - It's like the ultimate escape.
Awesome photo Cully - all your photos bring such inspiration to me and I love the fact that when I'm not shooting - I am privileged to know someone likewise and also a person that brings the best out in me. There is nothing better than sharing with like minded souls, to which yours is indeed; quite advanced. Your a true Bro that shares a rare gift for this day and age. ;)

Evening Dave so true there are so many elements of doing this that give me pleasure, quite often If I find myself somewhere really nice I am happy to turn the camera off and just sit and take the sights, sounds etc as you say a very powerful meditation, well it does me the world of good. I am pleased you are getting back into your photography you always seem to be at your best when you being creative! all your pictures are so beautifully composed and executed you really do that wonderful landscape of yours the justice it deserves.
I look forward to seeing lots more of your wonderful shots and I am so pleased you are feeling so much better, so keep doing the stuff you love because we love the results.

Hey Dude - I've come under attack with people hitting out on laws regarding my use of the drone. I'm kind of over the whole thing now. Did not take long did it. It's all at that link I gave in my mindful thread. (&^%$ I am such a nut) People just can't stand others having fun and or simply finding peace.
I'm sure I'll bounce back - Just lost interest for now. Actually thinking of selling it, but my wife won't hear about that. I love it and all - BUT - it's like have something with so much potential - but the law makers wont allow me to use it as I think it should be. again - I've explained it better at the above link - as well as lost the plot :(
Listening to some nature sounds to calm down - LOL Marilyn :) I think he would understand my reaction so well!
Man oh Man - I put in so many hours today and now afraid to look at my results. Early Meds tonight I think.
Closing Facebook and all - almost deleted Fliikr too.

I am so sorry to hear this has happened I am sorry but I don't seem to able to find the link. You were having so much fun with that Drone! surely there is somewhere that you can still use it?. What the hell sort of law can stop you flying! I mean you were hardly buzzing it through peoples gardens, I would love to know exactly what the problem is. I can understand the throwing everything up in the air and saying F..ck it! it's just the way I would have reacted. Your wife is right don't go and sell it there must be a way to work around this.
So sorry for you and this Dave take care Fella.

It's OK Dahila, I'll bounce back. :)
As you saw with the mindfulness thread and many others in places like these - we take great risk reaching out and sharing as we do. That other place was full of others who just can't let others live and let live. I was giving out a LOT of information - "the secrets" on how to obtain those long distance shots. My other friend pooled his thoughts with me on the phone to assist in this venture to share as was the goal. There where quite a few that seemed thankful and loving the examples I have provided, however a few clowns came along and shot the thread to pieces quoting this and that law.
At first it was more the way in which they were spelling it out if you know what I mean. I ignored one after the other, but then it become a case of US and Them. I could not keep up with the ignores and eventually some began to change their tone, knowing I could not otherwise hear. The message started to sink in ...
The law states - Basically in a nut shell, I can not fly my drone out of sight or above 400 ft - not in a populated areas nor at night. I am not allowed to fly through clouds or too close to the ground. I am not allowed to make one dollar or accept any kind of work. So you see, despite all that high tech about in built height restrictions restriction with pocketed areas that allow for limits to be reached - its like owning a Two Thousand Dollar Toy attached to a piece of string!
Essentially, the move to derail me came from your atypical disgruntled self employed yuppie. That combined with laws more designed to protect commercialism and capitalist pigs more than the safety of others like they preach - has all hit home once again like a projectile suddenly blowing my drone out of the sky.
You know me - I embrace things with a huge passion and utilize every-bit of tech I can afford ... My intent has always been to share what we most typically take for granted and share as freely as I can. SIGH - People are Greedy and Jealous beings ... You know, I could almost smell the religion in that forum too - and I now sit to finally finish a sentence in my head about how those secular ones think that they are untouched by such religiosity.
__________________________________________________ _________________________________________
Damn - it's so hard to wrap that one up. I think of Tolle's comment about the world's residual pain. How it spreads and becomes ingrained. Think of how groups of people can visit stonehenge. From those who seem to have a natural ability to sync with the plants, animals and the earth under their feet, to those who are simply struck with the immensity of now what lay before them. Whilst paused in that moment every person has the ability, to sense some form of energy coming from the stones. It might just be tingle for some yet for more statically charged for others, yet all humans have the capacitance to inherently to in on such a profound level.
In saying that though - we are fast losing such and ability to use for our own good - and that for the world - but for evil - such connections are now honed for selfish desire. But getting back to my point ... I hope I now have a context to when I now say how corruption of religiosity reigns just as toxic in those that claim to be either secular or agnostic. Main stream society does not respect desire for inner peace and have misconstrued our true gift to feel and be - instead we assimilate everything before us for the one purpose to become more than we are - Religiosity takes this to the extreme and it's own electric field thus built of the thousands of years, is not only absorbed but more so fed upon from those they claim no affiliation at all. In this way - the sickness keeps mankind from evolving at all.
Dose any of that make sense?
Interesting stuff at any rate - specifically the part how we humans feel and be. - Something Main Stream discourages as you know. Many will claim the fame to the space station as some kind of evolutionary leap, however since the evangelical crusades left up from the 70's and secularism of the 80's (The decade of insane greed and squander - look for the doco) - NASA has been No Where in the last Forty Years! You do get thos in that crowed that biker in this point like those who trow one verse against the others yet the message is as clear in each.
Not to worry - I fee better for now just spoken out - I know its mostly repeated, but each time I do - it becomes clearer.
Let them do as they do - I'll just fly my drone anyone - just as I will sleep under any tree that I choose. I'll do it without all the sharing as I do - or at the very least Share with those I find non threatening in such a toxic would as this be. Don't worry, I'll be sharing more cloud photos - they will only be treasured all the more as far as I can see.
Time to go say Hi to Pam - :)
