Hello Everyone. My name is Aaron. I been suffering from anxiety, pretty much severe for the last 8 years. Parents think i got it from them. Just wanted to meet some people that have the same issue, and try to move on in life being happy. Help me feel welcome.

Welcome Aaron!

Yes, anxiety can be passed on genetically. I got it from my Dad.
You'll make it through friend. Lots of us here,,all in the same boat.

E-Man. :)

Welcome. You are certainly not alone. If you look around the General forum here, you will see many in the same boat. Of course, the details are different from one of us to the next, but the broad themes are pretty similar. I bet you can contribute some in that forum and allow others to benefit from what you have learned in dealing with anxiety.

I suppose anxiety can be inherited from parents -- either in a genetic sense or an environmental sense -- at least in part. But I also tend to think, personally, that it does not much matter WHY I have anxiety. I just have it and I have to do the best to deal with it and not allow it to unduly interfere with my life.

Best wishes.

Hi Aaron!

You are definitely not alone! I know this is a thought that I've struggled with in the past; the experience of anxiety can be really isolating. I spent a good part of last winter hiding from the world. From this perspective, it can be hard to recognize that there are others out there and, more importantly, that people want to help. This forum is good evidence of that! Keep your head up!

Best

Hey Aaron, nice to meet you.

8 years is a long time to have been suffering from severe anxiety. That must have really worn you out. The guys above, and me, all prove you aren't alone in this struggle! Though all you really have to do is take a look at the number of members this forum alone has to see how many people out there battle this affliction at any given time.

It's nice to feel supported and not to feel alone with it all. Places like this can be really helpful.

I hope you stick around!
