One of my doctors has prescribed me some Cymbalta as it is supposedly approved for use in neuropathic pain.
Every other time I had ever tried an AD, I would get a terrible headache so I'm not really looking forward to that possibility.
I plan to start it after I meet with my primary care physician, after I hear her thoughts about this "idea".
Are there any success stories out there or anyone that uses this particular medication, for pain or mood?
Thank you in advance for your replies, time, and effort.
Have a great day friends!

Eman it does my hubby was on it after the accident, he was never better than on this med, physically and mentally. He is the success story. It helps for neuro pains so is really good for you. He never got any headaches on it. Start with the small doses, my psdoc said that it can be higher like every ten days so the side effects will be less painful:)) good luck , I think you need it

E-man,
I used Cymbalta about 7 years ago for anxiety and depression and just started using it again a week ago after I convinced my doctor that Lexapro was doing more harm than good. The first time I used it I saw a huge difference in my anxiety and depression. A nice unexpected result of taking it was that I stopped having migraines and it reduced the amount of tension that I was carrying in my shoulders.
I'm only seven days in this time around but have experienced minimal side effects (on 30 mg). My dose it going up to 60 mg tomorrow but I don't anticipate having any issues because I was on more than that the first time I took it. Out of all the ads that I've used Cymbalta has been the most effective for my anxiety and depression.

Thank you for the reply!
I also carry a lot of tension in my shoulders along with messed up discs in my neck. It generally hurts like hell.
I will also be starting on 30mg shortly too. As long as the GP agrees with the other doctors ideas and plans.
Have a good day Chick!

Something I will mention because I have had some side effects with the increase in dosage. One of the RARE side effects listed for Cymbalta is joint and muscle pain. I've had mild to moderate joint pain for almost 3 days now. It's mostly in the mornings and it isn't really interfering with my daily activities right now. Please don't let the side effects I'm experiencing deter you from trying the Cymbalta though.

Going to talk to the doctor about that now.
That's why the Neurologist wanted me to take it for, joint pains..grrr
Hopefully I learn more in the next hour or so.
Thanks Chick!
Have a good day.

Cymbalta helps with the nerve pain and should not cause joint pain, it must be the ajusting period

throw up to your heart desire as long as it is half an hour after taking the pill. It is temporary. However my man had not knowledge about side effects on the beginning of taking it, guess what? He had not side effects nothing at all.

E-man,
Everyone is different obviously but mostly what I've experienced is upset stomach and things along that line. Hope the Cymbalta works out for you!
