Hi,

My name is Noah, I am a 19 year old who has been dealing with anxiety for around five years now. For the most part, I have done very well in getting over my anxiety issues and I haven't had a panic attack in around 6-8 months. However, I'm more then ready to be completely finished with the whole ordeal (wishful thinking?).

Anyways, for the most part I know exactly what my anxiety symptoms are so I no longer get scared of them nor do they send me into a panic attack. The main problem I'm having now is this feeling of being in a dreamlike/ distant state during the day where I feel out of body. It will happen randomly during the day however, I've noticed it happens a lot when I'm walking outside or when I'm alone in general. Seeing as this is an anxiety forum, I'm sure many of you know exactly what I'm talking about.

I feel like this is the tail end of my anxiety, and if it wasn't for these out of body experiences, I probably wouldn't even notice that I have an anxiety problem. My question to you is, those of you that have had this type of sensation, what did you do to overcome it?

Thanks.

Welcome Noah!

Depersonalization, derealization, are very common symptoms of anxiety or other mental disorders.
I believe that I suffer from this daily myself and it is all in how I view the world around me..I'm working on it and am going to change it today in fact!
Many of us know what you're talking about as I'm sure many of us share the same experiences.
How to fix it or stop it?
Create an illusion that the world around you looks and feels exactly as you've expected it too, as you project yourself, re-shape it...not the other way around.
Hopes for the best!

E-Man :)
