Hey there,

let me expose my problem,

it all started 2 years ago, after a week of panic attacks, since then my abdominal muscles and neck muscles are most of the time, if not always, contracted.
It affects me a lot, for about a year i started to breathe correctly and it released some of the tension, but it's still there , and still unbearable.
I can't do sport correctly because my abdominal tension push on my lungs, magnesium is the only thing that allows me to sleep, i can't drink coffee, alcohol, it will cause me more tension and i won't be able to sleep at all.
The most annoying thing is that i have uncontrollable thoughts, when my mind is occupied it's fine, but when it's not, i just can't control them. The thoughts doesn't mean anything it's just random words popping and having the voice of people that i heard today, it's really freaking me out.
When i drink alcohol it's unbearable, i feel like a crazy person so i haven't tasted a single drop in 2 months and i'm totally ok with it, i would often drink 2 or 3 beers a week.

I tried many things, yoga, sophrology, anxiolytic meds, self muscle massage, and so on, the only things that works for 1 or 2 hours of joy is sport, meditation, after that i feel really good, so i'm guessing my body do not produce enough endorphin when i'm not doing these things, can you call that depression?

I will soon see my doctor to have a blood check to make sure that i'm not missing something in my body, if not i will have to see a specialist because i just can't stand it anymore,
who will you advice me to see : a regular psychologist ? a cognitive and behavioral therapy? or someone else?

If you relate to my story, have you some advice that worked on your situation? It would be pleased, thank you.

I have the same abdominal tension and neck tension too.
Purposefully slowing my breathing and relaxing seems to help the most.
A visit to the doctor however, sounds like a great idea!

Thanks! Have you ever took a medicine that reduced this kind of tension?

The Deep breathing exercises I learned really helped me with my thoughts racing out of control. I use to get severe muscle tension in my legs which would keep my from getting up sometimes. The only thing that truly helped was exercising daily and deep breathing. It helped my reduce stress in my body and from over thinking things and becoming numb with thoughts. One other thing that helped me was making a schedule and trying to stick with it. By getting as many of tasks done as I could, I didn't worry or become filled with thoughts as much because I generally felt satisfied with my accomplishments. I also read up on cognitive therapy and that was a big help as well. Anxiety, Phobias and Panic by Reneau Z. Peurifoy was the book I read. There are techniques in there for dealing with all kinds of anxieties and stress.
