New here, thank god there is a forum for support.
Just having the strangest symptoms & wondering if anyone has been super depressed & then felt ok & kind of like everything's fine in the SAME DAY? I was literally suicidal earlier, & now I feel fine, kind out of it, but generally fine.
Any help would be appreciated.

I actually had that problem more than once in the past. I have panic disorder and depression. I blame it on the chemicals in your brain not regulating properly. However something that has helped me quite a bit is going to therapy. I've noticed that mood wise I've been more stable since starting therapy. That's just my two cents.

I am all self-diagnosing myself with mild Bipolar 1 disorder....damn internet.
So, what meds do you take? SSRI's?
Thanks

Self-diagnosing is not something you want to do. At one point I had myself convinced that I had bipolar as well. Then I realized that part of my issue with mood swings was related to the amount of sugar in my diet. I've since tried to monitor how much I'm taking in. I've cut down greatly on eating sweets. Also just a tip, stay away from Google!
I'm not on any meds right now due to not having insurance. I was initially diagnosed back in '05 when I was in college. During a period of a year I was on Effexor, Paxil and finally Cymbalta. I found the most success on Cymbalta but after graduation was faced with losing health insurance so meds were no longer possible. I'm been kind of treading water the last few years without it, some years have been better than others.
Earlier this year it got significantly worse so I pushed myself to go back to therapy (that was in May). While therapy is working well and there's noticeable progress the other day I had the "meds" talk with my therapist. She agrees that I might benefit from going back on them. I actually just posted a thread on it in the "General Discussion" area yesterday. I'm hesitant/scared at the prospect of going back on medications. I'm thinking about possibly trying supplements first but since I did so well on meds part of me thinks that whatever is going on in my brain is definitely a chemical imbalance.
If you have any additional questions or want to chat sometime let me know. I check the board pretty frequently but read more than I post.
