Hi, I have what I currently think is trypanophobia. I've had it for a long couple years now. :(

It's caused daily anxieties for the last 3 years anyway. I have obsessive thoughts over the subject but I'm controlling it by meds. Day and night difference even after day one of taking them. I had panic attacks for a long time, but now I don't know if I have them anymore. In the fight or flight mode I am %100 fight and get angry when I'm stressed out about the subject. I'm not angry at anyone but I just have the feeling of anger. I used to have all the symptoms of a panic attack but now I have them all Except high heart rate. I end up pacing for hours with racing thoughts.

Oh well that's me in a nutshell.

Nice to be here.

Hey agita. Have you considered trying cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)? It can be REALLY well suited to this sort of thing, and can have a dramatic positive impact. It is also traditionally relatively short term therapy -- maybe 10 or 12 sessions or something like that. It is very different than traditional psychotherapy. There are therapists who specialize in CBT. Something to consider. Best wishes, Kuma

Hi Kuma :)

Actually I have done CBT. It worked okay to ease some of the stress. I've also done EMDR, RRT, Psychoanalysis and Mindfulness all with different psychiatrist, psychologist and LPCs. I haven't tried Clinical Hypnosis yet, but if my current desensitization and exposure therapy doesn't work out I might go that route. :)

I'm an odd case so some of the traditional things don't have much effect. CBT is really well suited to this though. ( I did 15 weeks with one of the best therapists in my area)
