Ok, so i decided to give zoloft a try again, even after my bad last episode(started with 25 mg, wokeup with hands shaking like hell). I have to tell you that I currently feel sick, I took it yesterday with no major problems, other than not being able to sleep, leg twitching, extremities tingling/burning. I took it again this morning and after one hour and started to feel weird, my perception changed for a bit, and then I started getting more and more agitated/nervous. This feeling subsided after 5 mins, but then again I have been feeling pretty restless/ crappy /sad, I feel some nausea. And this is just after my second dose of 12.5 mg. If this was a panic attack, why no triggers? I do have to say that I didn't sleep right last nite, at most 3 hours.

Not sure what to do, my doc says I should wait atleast 22 days to see if it works. This is day 2 and it really feels like shite, I feel more anxious than before I started the meds

Hi There,
I have been on it for 7 days.I am on 50 mg.I felt like a zombie the first day, felt like i wasnt in my body.Have since had nausea, upset tummy, stiff neck and headache, ankle pain, shakes, twitching, and lots of agitation.I would stick with it.I am feeling good today but yesterday i was really bad.I think we just have to push through it.I am telling myself that the affect will outway how bad i have been.Hope this helps.Let me know how you go and i will keep you updated on my progress also.
Taryn.

Ok, some progress report.. so I continued the zoloft, today it's my fourth day I took it today at 1pm, with some Xanax to curb the jitters, I felt good really good for the first time, now its 7PM, The happy feelings wore off, and I suddenly started to feel real flat feeling, almost numb, I don't know how to explain this, I got scared, didn't know what was happening, my hands started to get cold, right now im under the covers trying to get some warm back, thinking about what happened.

Day 6, i had more sleep that last nite, still I woke up at 1:30 am in the morning with some heavy breathing, I took some xanax to calm me down, then I woke up and felt good since a last time, I had to drop off my mom at the hospital, I then starting to feel a lump in my throat, almost in the verge of a panic attack, still managed to pull thru, now Im at work, took 1/4 xanax and zoloft 12.5. Gotta tell you I feel like I'm gonna fall asleep at work.

If you stick with the Zoloft, after about 6 weeks (maybe 8 weeks tops) you'll see that the side effects will subside. And once it kicks it, you probably won't need as much of the Xanax.

Might be the Xanax making you sleepy? I had a rough day yesterday but managed to pull through. My thoughts were just negative again. My heart rate has stayed normal though and i have not had a panic attack still. Just need my head to clear up and tighness of neck and headaches to go. Keep going we can talk each other through this.

Ok, so I have to report that I have been feeling mentally more balanced, not sure if such a low dose can do it but I do feel like thing rub off me easily. Physically I am experiencing burning/tingling sensations on my feet, they didn't use to be there before taking the medication, and seem to get worse the more anxious I become.

I am feeling great at the moment except for slight headaches, stiff neck and sore legs in the morning :)

So, I'm into day 12 of the treatment, currently taking 25mg and 1/4 xanax in the mornings, I think i am more anxious but mentally dont have so many negative thoughts as I used to have. My sleep remains variable, I might go to bed at 10PM then wakeup at 1AM, then I constantly keep falling to sleep and waking up. What worries me the most is the lump in my throat feeling, I know it's pure anxiety but it doesn't help things. Tingling/hot feet sensation comes and goes, specially at night

Ok, so progress report, I believe im at day 11, taking 25mg, will ramp up to 50mg this weekend, the tingling /burning is less, haven't experienced any major GI side effects, emotionally yesterday I went thru fear to feeling numb and then "normal", and had better sleep, I do believe i have experiencing mini panic attacks, not sure how to put this, there is no dread sensation but there is that choking feeling in my throat when I'm at situations i used to get panic attacks( such as driving or going to places other than my home ).

This is day 15, burning/tingling sensations have subsided, no Gi side effects, can only say that this Zoloft makes me wired even after the poor sleep I have been getting, mood wise is funny but I feel like I'm going back to where I was before my nervous breakdown, if you take depression/anxiety away there's that feeling of being in the comfort zone life-wise.

Hi! This is day 2 of Zoloft 50mg. The first day I had diarrhea, felt like a zombie and got very sleepy. At work today I still felt like a zombie with no energy and couldn't focus. I have a presentation in two days so I hope it doesn't get worse. I'm taking zoloft for anxiety.

The first few weeks on any SSRI are usually pretty hellish. I've been on and off them for 20 years. Now I just stay on them (Lexapro atm) so that if I have another meltdown I won't have to go through the initial side effects.

They can take a good couple of months to kick in as well. Usually about 6 weeks for me. When they do though, they really work. So hang in there.

Cheers,
Gypsy x
