Hi everyone. Been on Paxil since 2000 and recently, my doc increased my dose because my OCD traits are coming out more. I have a lot of things on my mind, am a chronic worrier, and am more anxious than usual. I've been waking up lately boo-hooing and really have to drag myself out of bed. By early afternoon, usually I'm ok. It really doesn't make sense to me how I can wake up feeling so bad but go to bed feeling good.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

When do you take your medication? The half-life of a drug varies (and consequently, how long it is active in the body) but they are usually about 8 hrs. It could also take time for the Paxil to reach an appreciable concentration in the bloodstream where it is biologically effective, plus the time it takes to cross the blood-brain-barrier to exert its effects. This could simply be a timing issue with when .you take your me edication. Maybe check with your doc as to when is the best time to take Paxil.[/b]

Hi anx_taking_over_my_life - I take my meds in the morning around 10am, usually. My Paxil is Controlled Release, so I thought it was released in the body all day and not at just certain times. That was my understanding, anyway. I've been on the 37.5mg for 10 days now and after 14 days, the doc will increase it to 50mg. We'll see if that works.

I'm just so sick and tired of the boo-hoos. I just can't stop them once I get going. It's very tiring to cry so much. Yesterday was a rough day and I am just hoping the increased Paxil will make the boo-hoos go away....
