Chest Pain in right side of the chest

Has anyone experienced chest pain when lying down for bed, out of no where? It was stabbing so I had to switch to the other side. I woke up this morning and it is still sore and mild stabbing pain on and off. What could this be? It scared me! I hope it goes away...

I've had it in the past....
I've realised we have so similar symptoms!

It's to do with the heart going so fast the day before I believe.

I was at the hospital last night for excruciating sharp/stabbing pain in my middle chest. I'm 18... wasn't a heart attack and my lungs were fine. It could very well be stress/anxiety or some kind of muscular problem which is why advil would work great in this situation. If the pain doesn't go away after you take an advil, goto your doctor and if it gets worse then take a trip to the emergency room. I'm sure it's nothing but better safe than sorry!!

PS: The doctor in the emergency last night told me sharp chest pains are NOT associated with heart attacks. Heart attacks are mostly associated with a tight chested feeling where you feel like an elephant is sitting right on your chest... but for anyone WITH anxiety reading this, you're fine... it's just the anxiety talking. If you don't ever get anxiety and you feel this elephant on your chest then i'd get yourself to a doctor to get checked out.

Thank you Pumpkin. I recently lost my job, so I lost my insurance, which sucks for someone who has anxiety. I know the center of the chest can be a gas bubble as well. This pain was on my right side of the chest. I am feeling better, but it is sore today. I hope it doesn't come back.

I've had several visits to the emergency room for chest pain on both sides i was concerned at first that it was a Heart Attack,i'm 34 and in good health otherwise. The Dr did tell me that i had Costochondritists(inflammation of the Costal joints in the chest) it was the first time i ever heard of this affliction. Interestingly enough he told me that iy is common for some reason in people who suffer from anxiety.I'm alleric to NSAIDS so i just started Serapeptase.
