Hello:D
Recently I have been doing a lot of things with my camera and been planning Youtube videos & I think I have finally got more confident with my Youtube videos as I now do them on my OWN and have wanted to do that for 2 years and couldn't. I have also got another account for Horror Reviews which is where I review horror films and i love it!:D
And, I have finally built the courage to email hotels/restaurants for part time JOBS! And one place has already replied! Although this makes me extremely nervous and i don't think i'll be able to handle it, i have got to try!:) Thanks for reading haha:)
If you want, you can check out my Youtube channel to help me out and see how I am doing? Also, planning on making a 'social anxiety' video but so far every time I talk about it I get upset!

That's wonderful! It always makes me happy to see posts wherein people seem to be doing well; it makes me feel like there's hope for the rest of us :) And you had a fear of getting a job? That's something I'm currently struggling with, too. Can you tell me how you convinced yourself to start pursuing one? I could use the advice.
I checked out your Youtube channel, by the way. Very cool videos!

You are being really brave and you should be so proud of yourself. You will be able to do this. Practice your coping mechanisms and you will do brilliantly.

MaloryR, it took me over a year to be able to get the confidence to get a part time job, i think i kept giving myself targets to do and think about, when i keep doing this job every week i am going to be rewarded with money:) As well, i think i've slowly become more confident from school because they have done things like fake interviews, interviews with teachers and sometimes teachers will ask me to ask another teacher for things and i use to and still get nervous for that. Thinking about going to my job for the first day is making me sososo nervous but I'm giving myself a shot whether i panic, blush badly or anything! And I'm going to the bank Saturday, and i'm already panicking and nervous for it haha! As well, I think Youtube has helped me out a lot as well as it takes me about 15 minutes to just say 'hello everyone' to a camera & it's something I enjoy. Hope this helps in some way?:) xx

Kixxi- I am proud hah:) but I still get upset thinking my social anxiety could ruin this as they may want me to take orders from people and get me to ask people if they have finished their food and collect their plates. But, either way i'll give it a go and see what happens even though i'm extremely scared:p xx

Hi, shonaat. I had a similar experience when I went for my job interview back in 2007. It was a for a government job (which I found intimidating because it was with the government) and when I arrived there were at least 6 other people waiting to be interviewed. I saw people coming out of the boardroom looking frazzled and I immediately thought of just leaving as I already told myself I didn't have a chance. The real kicker was that when it was my turn, I found myself facing a panel of 5 people...one of whom was the Executive Director of the entire office. To make matters worse, they were at all at one end of a really long table and I was at the other. I felt like I was in front of the parole board. When I left the interview, I assumed I would never hear from them. Two months later, I got a call saying that I was hired. The first thing I said was: "Are you sure you have the right person?" That was seven years ago and now I find talking to these people no more difficult than talking to my parents.

I'm honestly not sure what point I'm trying to make here. I guess it's like that picture going around on Facebook of the kitten standing in front of the mirror but his reflection is that of a lion. We're all stronger than we realize sometimes. Whatever job you take, I wish you the best of luck.

Your YouTube channel is quite entertaining and also really well presented. You guys seem to have so much fun. I remember a long time ago when I saw you in the forum and watched way back then, how you and the other guy were laughing so much! Thanks for sharing that in the forum. I think a lot of other young people in here could draw some inspiration from your courage to share as you do. Nothing but good vibes to say the least.

I'm thinking of making a few lighthearted videos myself whilst I am out camping.

Well done and thanks for sharing your channel. Wishing you all the best with your future videos - may you and your friend continue to have such fun.
