I've been on zoloft 25mg for 3 years. My dr told me to wean off zoloft in a week while taking my new prescription buspar (not sure the mg of buspar yet in assuming something low). Reason for getting off zoloft is due to my lack of sex drive (I am 24). I am freaked out because ;

A) drug interaction I read between the 2
B) so called "brain zaps" from weaning off zoloft
C) I feel like a week is not long enough to wean off a drug I've been taking for 3 years
D) just generally scared of starting all over again.

Advice pls?

I take Lexapro and Buspar together and my doctor says it's fine. I think you should wean off slowly off the Zoloft. I don't see any reason why you can't have them both in your system at the same time but it's always good to go slowly off an ssri. The buspar helps the anxiety more than the depression.

I made a mistake years ago to go off rapidly and I did pay with insomnia which lasted for three weeks. The same happened to my hubby. He never asked me how to ween off the ssri......He had not sleep for weeks. Slow, very slow you take it slow
and you are going to be ok
