Cutting Propranolol Tablets Evenly? Help?

Is it safe to cut Propranolol tablets in half? So i usually take 40mg, can i cut it to make it 20mg?

Also, does it have to be cut perfectly even? So if it is cut by hand to say 40/60, is this safe?

I am on Micardis plus and I was cutting in half for over 4 years. It is serious medication for lowering blood pressure :))Beta blockers

If it was safe at 40 the effect lessons the less you take. So depending on how long you were taking the 40 mg id only be concerned of withdrawal if you suddenly start taking a smaller dose. Otherwise. Its completely safe to split the pills.

I think you could talk to the pharmacist about it. I ask the pharmacists questions all the time and they know more than the doctors do usually about how each medication works. If they fill a script for you, they are also going to answer any questions you have.

You can get small pill cutter for two or three dollars, every pharmacy have it. It is great, works on small and big pills:)

Agree on the pill cutter! They are cheap as dirt and really work. Ask your pharmacist exactly how to use it. It's not at all difficult but you do need to get the pill in exactly the right spot in order to split it evenly. Hey, if I can do it anyone can.......
