Hello! New member here!
I am 40+ married Mom of two teens. I have had Anxiety for 7 years, but have always been a sensitive, worrying sort of person. My Anxiety has had cycles to it the past 7 years with right now being bad due to an impending major life change (moving out of state) I am struggling with staying asleep the past couple weeks. I fall asleep ok, but wake a few hours later, adreneline running and the worry track playing in my head. Anyway, it is comforting to see others here like me, I find family gets very tired of listening and I find I have to pretend to be fine for them because I can tell my Anxiety gets too much for them to hear about. Thanks for reading!

Hey Alegna. I am another parent of teens with anxiety that has been worse than usual these days, and sleep problems. Sometimes I have trouble falling asleep and other times I fall asleep but wake up very early (like 4am) and cannot fall back asleep. Makes it hard to work the next day. Recently, I have been taking some sleep meds, when I really need to get a good night's sleep. I have tried unisom, which is OTC (at least in the US, where I live) and also zaleplon, which is prescription. Zaleplon has a very short half life, so -- unlike some other sleep aids -- it seems to be OK for taking in the middle of the night, if you wake up and cannot fall back asleep. I don't take any of this stuff often -- I don't want to get addicted to it -- psychologically or physically -- but sometimes I just need some sleep! (I have some Xanax too, but I VERY rarely take that). Of course, none of what I say is medical advice -- I am not qualified to give any such advice. I hope you find something that works for you. Maybe after the move, your anxiety will diminish. Best wishes, Kuma
