How long to wait before excepting it's not working?

I'm asking anyone who is taking an SSRI, how long it took before they saw consistent improvement. I've been on Zoloft for 7 weeks now. I started 100 mg's a little over a week ago. At 50 mg's & 75 mg's, I was noticing more good moments and was feeling hopeful. My pdoc wanted me on 100 so I did as she said but I'm having a lot of nervousness and borderline panic. Mentally I just feel "off". I'm seeing her tomorrow and I figure she'll suggest a different med but I hate doing that if this one just needs a bit more time. My doc seems awful quick to switch meds. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

I'd be preparing to change pretty soon if that were me.

The 7 weeks won't be wasted, so it's not too big of a deal. The next drug should work a little quicker and with less side effects now your body is used to SSRI's
