7 weeks now. Dr upped doseage to 45mg and said see how I feel in 3 weeks. If not go back and start coming off them. No improvements with this medication just side effects - weight gain and severe drowsiness. other symptoms can easily be chalked up to the usual anxiety nonsense.

Really need to put myself on the NHS waiting list for therapy. Tried this medication after no success with SSRI's because I couldn't handle not being able to sleep. I did stupidly read about people coming off this medication and it was in anxiety forums and a lot of people had some serious issues with it. That wasn't helpful - using the internet for symptoms and such never helps. It's only served to make my anxious feelings increase.

For most people, the SSRI's make them sleep, and the Wellbutrin is the one that causes insomnia. There's an old one called Trazadone that people say helped them sleep. Remeron is known for weight gain. I hope you can find one that works for you but keep looking. I've been on almost all of them but finally have settled on a Lexapro/Buspar combo.

The SSRI's just made me feel wired. Like I was on cheap E's or something. It made getting to, and staying asleep very difficult. I did feel drowsy but it never lead to ease of sleeping. Whereas Remeron i'm drowsy 24/7 - a lot more severe compared to SSRI's and I can sleep in excess of 16 hours a day. Although I always push myself to stay awake and avoid taking 6+ hour naps.

Snice going from 30-45mg i've noticed my stomach isn't enjoying it. Then again it could just as easily be from anxiety. Got another 2.5 weeks to see how I fair with it and if no improvements I guess 4 weeks or so to taper off them and try something new.
