Hello lovelies,

I am Nicky from England. In 2009 I was diagnosed with skin cancer (I am clear) and subsequently suffered my first anxiety/panic a couple of months after diagnosis.

I have always been a confident half glass full kinda girl and really you would have thought would be the last person to suffer from nerves/anxiety, but I did.

During the first year or so I suffered terribly, thinking I was going crazy. Eventually I became to understand what this is and became less scared of the "attacks". Today I am not suffering as I was, however I do get feelings of utter anxiety from nowwhere, and it can happen at any time. You know, that feeling of unease, butterflies, shaky, like something terrible has happened or will happen. But I can't put my finger on why it is happening at that moment.

I can sympathise with anyone suffering anxiety/panics, it really isn't fun and can at times be extremely frightening. The only advice as a sufferer myself is to understand it and ride it, eventually it goes away, or you learn to mange it.

Anyway that's me, hello :)

Hello and hearing that you are cancer-free is awesome!! congrats :)

Anxiety attacks are absolutely awful and having suffered them many times, i wouldn't wish it on my enemies. The biggest battle is learning to cope with your anxiety and speaking as someone who hasn't fully yet learned, it's not easy. Anyways, nice meeting you and hopefully you get a good use out of the forum when you're having a hard time!

Hello again and congrats on being cancer free. I have benign skin cancer, and it can change any moment. It is scary as hell. No doubts it causes anxiety and panic attacks :)

Hi Natural Mystic,
Glad to here all clear. When I first came to this forum my anxiety was at a peek because I had to have a lump thing removed from my lip which was nothing but scared the crap out of me. But after being on hear I have come to realize that I have a health anxiety and a few other issues. I have calmed down some but I have learned from folks on here some techniques and different ways of thinking etc etc.

Do some reading like the thread from Fourteen14 HEATH anxiety exposed and also Dahlia has a good thread on Guided meditation. Make sure and read the whole thread.
Glad to have you here and enjoy the ride.
Please never hesitate to ask a question.
