Saved me!! I'm about 2 months in & I bumped up to 40mg a couple weeks ago. This stuff worked wonders for me!!

I had a little side effects but I had xanax to curve them. They weren't too bad. Just didn't like them & that's what my xanax was for!!

Took about 2 weeks to feel better but 4-5 to feel even better.

Good luck :) I hope it helps like it's helped me!!

I cannot sleep when taking them... And they make me feel nauseated. I also have like a tightness around my head.

Hi JamieNewell,
I was on paxil for almost 13 years and it did get me through a rough spot in my life. If you are having some side affects you should talk to your doc. It takes 4-6 weeks for it to kick in.
Good Luck

Insomnia will go away. I had it also.

Did you feel sick? Have a headache, and/or tightness around your head? And a weird feeling/taste in your mouth?

I don't want to take it anymore. I took it twice and I don't like these feelings I am getting. Is it okay to stop taking it after 2 doses of 20mg?

I even went out for dinner with a friend and she told me I wasn't myself. She said something is definitely off with that medication and that I looked like death.

It would probably be OK if only 2 doses. You should still talk to your doctor though. I went off after many years and you just go through a strange withdrawal . I called them brain zaps.

Unfortunately, almost all meds will have some side effects :/

I had a headache that lasted 2 days. I don't remember any tightness around my head.. Weird taste in my mouth yes, & randomly I would feel my mouth get like, a little numb for a couple seconds.

They say when starting an ssri, you feel worse before feeling better.. I thankfully stuck through it & I'm doing amazing now..

Like john said, talk to your dr.

If you don't think you can handle the side effects, ask to switch. Or maybe ask about something to calm your nerves until the Paxil settles. I had xanax.

I'm not taking it anymore.

I'll consult with my doctor sometime this week. He will probably agree with me. The doctor that prescribed the Paxil was a foreign E.R. doctor. I shouldn't need to take these medications for occasional anxiety attacks and palpitations. I have anxiety attacks once a month, not even.

Oh yea, you should be prescribed something a lot milder. Ask about buspar. My sister just started on it & she gets random anxiety so the dr said that is good for mild anxiety.

I'm was prescribed Paxil by a psychiatrist after all day anxiety & not being able to go outside of the house.

I am so sorry you had to go through that.

My mom wants me to try Celexa mixed with Clonazepam.

I went to my doctor today. He told me that Paxil is most def. not for me. He now has me on 10mg of Celexia. He said Celexia is much better then Paxil. So, we will see...
