Hey all...

So I was having a lot of anxiety and panic attacks when my doc prescribed me REMERON (Mirtazapine) 30 mg. My anxiety was so bad that it was even difficult to go to doc and i was throwing up a lot, lost my appetite completely. I took my first tablet of Remeron 30 mg 2 weeks aga and the next day my heart was sinking so badly and i was having near to fainting feelings. Called the doc and he said 30mg is a bit too much for me so he said to reduce my dosage to half (15mg). Its been 13 days now and i was feeling improvement in my mood, overall panic attacks reduced.

But...today am feeling very panicky again. Plus since am on remeron, i constantly feel numbness in my hand and feet along with lightheadedness which are anxiety symptoms. Its a hard to describe feeling but its like minor anxiety symptoms all the time. But the thing is i just ignore it and ignore it...but it is still there.... :( I don't know why my anxiety isn't completely ending...and why am having these symptoms all the time now.

Does anyone feel the same on remeron..? Will the anxiety eventually end?? I still dont feel like going out, i fear i'll have panic attack there again... How much time Remeron (15mg) takes to kick in..??

Anyone who has taken this drug..please share positive review and ur experience..

Thanks

3 days. Takes no time at all. Then it builds up over 2 weeks and you usually feel most of the benefits you'll feel on that dose by then.

'I still dont feel like going out, i fear i'll have panic attack there again'

Sadly while that's still the case, you'll have a hard time getting fully over it.

I don't know if Remeron is your first med or not, but if you've been on a treatment plan for just under a month, you've still got a long way to go. It can take anywhere upto 3 years to really get daylight between you and your condition, if it was severe.

Thanks jessed.

Remeron is my first medicine that I have started for anxiety. I never faced any such problem in my life before. It just came out of no where and became bad in a week. I wanna be back to how i was soon. Am feeling improvements but still...not completely. I hope i get over the anxiety soon and get back to the routine and life.

Hun,

I started on Remeron 30gm for about a month but unfortunately, i didn't see any decrease in my anxiety levels. My Psychiatrist has now put me on lexapro 20mg in the morning and reduced the Remeron to 15mg at night to help with my insomnia. I do feel a slight change in my mood, but I'm not sure if its the drugs or a placebo effect. My Anxiety though remains unchanged... hope you have better luck than me...

Hey Tony...sorry to hear about ur experience and hope u feel better soon. Remeron seems to be working as it has overall reduced my panic....which was very bad before starting this medicine. But, yeah i still feel anxiety sometimes..especially lightheartedness etc..but they are not as severe as they were.

Hoping to get rid of these symptoms completely soon...and hope you feel better soon.

The one thing i liked about Remeron is the sleep it gives me, as 70% of the time i get a good night's sleep. Only thing is i need a double espresso first thing i wake up, or i end up like a zombie at work. So my dependance on coffee has skyrocketed. Glad the meds are working for you! With these issues i find, getting the right meds is almost like winning the lottery!

My doctor tells me with any antidepressant to give it 4-6 weeks. After week 6, you pretty much are getting close to the full benefits (8 weeks for full benefits) . That way you know if it is working for you or not. I've been on almost all of them and he always tell me to give it time to work before I judge if it is working for me or not.

I have been taking Remeron almost 4 weeks now and have also noticed numbness in hands or feet which give me anxiety as I begin associating it with a stroke. I also noticed my heart beat seems to be fainter not as strong. Does anybody else notice this symptom with the heart?

Agree with Anne1221...Thats what i have been told by the doc... These meds take 6-8 weeks to give ful benefit.. i have completed 3 weeks on it and feeling a bit beter...but these slight symptoms are there still which make me panic...shud give the med more time to work...

Beatul... I felt very low heart beat when i took my first tab of 30 mg....this is when doc said to reduce the dosage to half and now am taking 15mg... Though i still feel a bit lightheaded with numb hands many times... Hoping to get rid of them soon.... Hope u feel better soon too
