I'm Tessa and I'm a long-time sufferer of anxiety. Usually my worries are daily and about everything, but then I also get highly anxious about medical issues. I have been thinking about seeing a therapist but I can't quite take that leap yet, but it needs to happen soon. I'm in my 30s and I have a child. I really don't want her to deal with these issues.

Welcome Tessa. I suggest you follow your intuition. Women have a great sense of it.

Hi Tessa, welcome.

Trust your instincts. What have you got to lose other than a bit of time it takes to go to an appointment? My guess is not much. Potential gains from the time spent can be life altering. And by that I mean you find your road to recovery.

If you do a lot of reading of threads here you will see that many many people have health related anxiety which if left unchecked can spiral out of control quite easily.

Read a lot and ask lots of questions. No question is ever silly or dismissed around here. We are here to help, guide, or just be a shoulder to lean on.

Cheers
Pam

Thanks for the nice welcome.

Yes, it's gotten so much worse since I had a child. I am constantly worried that I will leave her motherless. I need to take the first step and get help...

For sure on the help. I think that there is not to many days that I dont worry about leaving my kids without a father. I do not have any kind of life insurance or retirement and that also worries me. I did have a retirement but my first born was a preemie and I foolishly pulled my retirement to keep the bill collectors off my *ss. long story.
I think that this kind of worry really shows how much your child means to you but some how you and I need to not let it ruin our lives or at the very least consume all our thoughts.
Good luck and see a doc. if you want, good place to start. Check out some of this forum it will also help.
Never hesitate to ask for help.
