I've been on it for a little over a month. & it's made a huge difference! I'm currently in the middle if upping my dose from 20mg to 40mg.

I started feeling good on the 20mg so I'm excited to see how the 40mg is.

Good luck! :)

Oh that's great news! My doctor is starting me on 10 mg since I will be moving cross-country in two weeks- she said once I get a new doctor at our new location I should have it up'd to 20 mg and go from there.

I also take .5mg of Kolonopin as needed.

Did you experience any side effects when you first started it?

I started at 10mg also.

I had a little anxiety as a side effect but that only lasted I think 2 days which is when I would use my xanax. So that's good you have klonopin! :) another side effect, was some constipation for the first week. TMI sorry lol.. & I have been having a hard time sleeping but most people are actually more tired from it. I got a headache that lasted only 2 days. Tylenol helped with that.

Overall, the side effects weren't bad at all!!

Oh good! I hope I have mild side effects or non would be better ;)

Zoloft and Celexa didn't work for me, so I'm hoping this will :) my doctor said she thinks due to my history and genetics, I will probably be on an anti depressant for life.

My doctor didn't say. I take the Kolonopin at night when I need it. I was thinking of taking it a night also, but maybe I should split it up, one at night and the other in the morning?

So I haven't taken it yet...I'm nervous about the side effects, it's so stupid. I'm determined to start taking it today! It's such a low dose to start with anyway

The longer you wait, the longer til it kicks in!

It'll be okay. Remember, your klonopin is there to counteract the side effects if you have any

I didn't take it---my mom had a horrible reaction to it, so I'm waiting for my doctor to return my call so I can be switched to Celexa. I took it years ago, but didn't take it long enough to feel it work. I'm determined to stick with it this time.

I am 28 now, and I have been on Paxil nearly continuously since I was about 11. That's 17 years of Paxil use. It is almost the only antidepressant I have ever used, although I am on Day 3 of a cross-taper onto Lexapro (escitalopram) right now.

Paxil has been hugely beneficial in my life. I took a full 6 months off when I was 19, and my anxiety just got worse and worse over those 6 months.

Definitely do not discontinue Paxil abruptly, it is one of the worst antidepressants for that. I have done it several times, both intentionally and because I ran out, and it is highly unpleasant.

I am moving to Lexapro now because I am not doing too well, and I need to try something. I need to switch things up. Best of luck to you, Paxil can definitely be a huge help with anxiety.

I haven't started it yet. My mom said it worked great until she had a weird allergic reaction to it, her body started tingling and then she was paralyzed until the ambulance can and have her a shot of benydrl. I'm afraid I would have the same allergic reaction.

So I'm going to ask to be subscribed Celexa instead.

How is the Lexapro for you? I hope things get better for you :)

Did you have any weight gain on Paxil??

& why did you go on it? Sorry I'm curious lol.

I went on because panic attacks, GAD & acute agoraphobia. I'm hoping the Paxil takes most of that away. I've been on it for about 6 weeks but just bumped up to 40mgs Wednesday.

When I was on Paxil .....I didn't gain any weight.....I was a workout fiend though....I also didn't lose any weight. Although it has been documented that weight gain and Paxil are common. Hope this helps.
