So I've made the mistake of searching klonopin a lot of people said that it's a life threatening drug. I'm terrified now my anxiety is spiking I even had an attack. What do I do today was my first does now I'm scared of having a seizure or something, I'm taking 0. 5 MG of klonopin and I've been prescribe twice a day dose for 2 months. People said that it can cause brain damage. I'm panicking right now what do I do?

I've been on 0.5 mg daily for the past 8 months and I'm completely fine. If you actually look into it, klonopin is an anti seizure med. You are on such a low dose I don't think it's going to harm you at all. Don't google!! I did that before and it was the devil for me haha, I have learned never to google anything, EVER.

lolol. Kpins is actually prescribed to PREVENT seizures from occurring. It is actually a VERY safe drug. You are terrified because of reading all the wrong things.

You have to put what you read into context.
Any long term use of a medication such as benzo, SSRI etc. Can have adverse side effects if stopped abruptly and without the advice of a doctor. This simply means withdrawal is done steadily. It doesn't mean they have to be taken forever once started.
Certainly a couple of weeks of taking a benzo would be unlikely to cause any significant problems by stopping it, unless you were taking a considerable dosage.

Thanks for the reply, reading that stuff really got to me. I'm going to be taking then for 2 months and I have to see my psychiatrist in one month. Now I'm scared of the withdraw symptom some say it could even cause psychosis. I'm trying to look at from a logical stand point but with anxiety and emotions I can't :(

Hey Jason,
The only thing you need to keep in mind with this type of med is this....do it slowly, very very slowly when you are coming off it. Be responsible and do it with the help of your doctor .
Don't just decide one day you are cured and stop taking it cold turkey.
You kind of need to make a decision as to what sucks more, the anxiety and emotions you are experiencing or the possibility of having withdrawl symptom.
Good luck

Stopping cold turkey from any benzo is not recommended. Psychosis if occurs due to withdrawal would only be temporary.

If you have to google, try searching for positive experiences with your medicine. My doc said something that made sense to me. People who write reviews are typically the people who are upset. The people having the positive experience are out living life and not focusing on those things. Try to remember that when you read reviews like that.
