I have really bad health anxiety. My question is, does anyone continuously check their body to make sure it feels okay on both sides, only to find that one part may be bigger than another part? I know this sounds weird, I can't quite explain it but I keep checking my ribs and sometimes it seems as though one is bigger on one side than on the other side. I don't know if it really is, if im imagining it, or if there is really something wrong. Please help! Any advice/suggestions would be helpful.

I'm always checking my pulse...or freaking out at any new pain or being consumed by the pains I get from this. I've gotten a little better, but I still have some habits of doing the body scan. It sucks.

Here's something to keep in mind. There is no such thing as perfection. This applies to everything, including the human body. Not only are no two people alike. But neither are two parts of the same person. While it is true that it is abnormal to have, say, one leg that is two inches longer than the other, they are still not going to be ABSOLUTELY equal in length. The same goes for ribs orany other body part. This is completely normal.

Thank you both for your replies! Robbed - I have been told this, but I guess I cannot accept it. I guess I look at it as 'well, I have never noticed this before so it must be new .. maybe a rib tumor or something equally scary'. Ehhh I hate being like this, its just depressing and causes me to cry everyday lately, over what could be wrong with me and over why I keep doing this.

for me its the right side of my body. my face feels numb my jaw gets tired and i get a bad case of dizziness. I also like to check my blood pressure in fear of a heart attack. this last week my brain went from thinking its a stroke to heart attack. those are my two worst fears which really really sucks
