Hello there! I'm new to this forum. So ... I'm 21 and in my third year of college. I've had anxiety for about ten years; I was also a pretty worrisome/timid child before then, but I think I started having panic attacks at around age 11. Some times are worse than others––most of the time I can kind of keep the panic attacks at bay, although I'll go through periods of time where the attacks are more frequent/severe. On top of that I'm also quite socially anxious and have a lot of trouble speaking to people I don't know, going out in public by myself, making friends, etc. I tend not to really talk to people about these things, so I thought I might benefit from joining this community. :)
Some other things about me: I love writing and I hope to be a published author one day. I also love drawing/painting and listening to music. And I love animated movies.
I look forward to joining in on the discussion!

Oh, and I think it's awesome that you like to write, draw, and listen to music. Creative outlets really can help with anxiety and it can really take us into a different world, and it's just plain fun.. What do you like to write about and listen to?

Hi guys. My name is Mike, I promised myself I I ever found something that really helped with my GAD and Panic that I would aggressively share. So long story short I was reading about Magnesium, specifically Magnesium deficiency. I found how it was linked to anxiety, stress, the entire autonomic nervous system. I have literally tried everything I have ever read or heard about helping so I bought a magnesium supplement. Its important that you buy just magnesium and not Mag combined with something else. Any way the first day that I took the Magnesium supplement I took 500mg ( that is what you should get everyday) and I felt normal, completely normal, no trace of anxiety! I have still had a few Panic attacks, but from what I have read it takes time for your Magnesium levels to become normal again, and I hope those go away also. I had some concerns about Diarrhea, but have had no problems with that. I encourage everyone to read up on Magnesium deficiency and give this inexpensive and life changing mineral a chance! God bless and good luck!

Hello Mike. Welcome. If you do a search for magnesium there are several threads about it. They may be of special interest to you. Glad you're feeling good.

Oops, I didn't see your reply until now. Thank you so much!
I mostly write young adult fiction, usually fantasy/sci-fi but I like to mix it up and try different genres. As for what I listen to, I guess most of it would be categorized as indie rock, although I'll listen to just about anything. :)
