Don't know really if I have mild depression or just somewhere in between sadness and depression if that makes any sense. Also what would your advice opinion be whether I should take medication for this. I'm afraid of medication cause they make me feel worse.

Let your doctor decide if medication is warranted. Make an appointment to see him/her. Tell them everything! Then working together you will come up with a plan. Just keep in mind, meds are not a short cut, they just help you get your brain working so you can figure out the root cause of your sadness/depression.
Hope this helps!
Cheers

One thing I have good going for me is I've managed to get better without meds just that negative thinking edge. For me I don't think there is outside things to be sad about I'm very blessed with so much and very fortunate. My problem is my negative thinking is not in line with that knowledge of my blessings. Now I also notice that my self esteem is a cause of much of the negative. I did a project asking people facebook friends positive qualities they had when thinking of me there was over 50 positive responses. I cried when I read them. My confidence and belief is so low.

Hi I'm almost certain I read yesterday that low dose Sertraline can make you feel worse? Would need one of the med folks to confirm I didn't dream that one though! Dosage is very important!
They also tried 50 mg with me and it was nasty experience.
