I was doing better and then after christmas, i started a new job and got engaged. Anxiety strated to flair up big time but for the last month i have been depressed. I have a 6 year old so i need to be top shape for him. I am already taking prozac so i can't understand what happened. Isn't it suppose to prevent it. I am even considering TMS as a treatment. This has been going off and on for years. Could i be resistant to treatment?

After the last few months that would appear to have been stressful, it is understandable that you anxiety decided to take advantage of it

And throw in the fact that you have a young child and feel pressure to be in " top shape", it was inevitable to start feeling the way you do

You are certainly not resistant to treatment.

You may just not have found that right med yet or a good combination of things

How long have you been taking the Prozac?

If it has been a substantial amount of time, talk to your GP about trying something different

I have been on Prozac less than a year. Close to 8 months. Tried to increase dosage but i get sick. Tried to add Buspar...no luck. Tried the following meds: paxyl, celexa, effexor, zoloft...

I get some relief but still an ongoing battle.
Seeing my GP today.
She might recommend some time
Off but i just strated the job 2 months ago...

I think Effexor XR is best when doing Effexor. The regular does not do anything for me, the XR works great. I'm not sure why this is, but I recommend anyone to do the XR only. It does cost more, but now it's not too bad. Used to be very high cost.

Just wanted to throw that in the mix. Like Nixon said, this has been a "happening" time for you and there is pressure with that little one. Take care of his mommy. :D

Peace

Sorry should have said that i was taking the XR. Doc might choose to add effexor xr again a low dose. I regret changing jobs and tried to go back to my precious employer but there is a hiring freeze. So needless to say i feel stuck
