Hello Friends-

Tomorrow marks 7 weeks on Luvox. 1st week was 50 mg (not therapeutic), spent 4 weeks on 100 mg (starting therapeutic), and it will be two weeks tomorrow on 150 mgs.

Am I doing better than before? Sure. Did I have some change come over me where I thought, "wow this med is really working!" - not really.

It's just kind of been touch and go- I still have awful days and then I will have great days. My obsessive thoughts are I would say 60% gone. I still do have them almost daily.

It's barely scrapped my depression. My pdoc says it isn't the best for depression, but that maybe by going up to 200mg it will help.

I have been given the go ahead to go up to 200mg, but i am unsure. Should I give the 150 more time? Should I switch all together? I just don't really know what to do.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Cat

I laughed so hard when you signed off as cat! :)

I'll talk this over with Eman. I'm trying to put myself in your shoes. I'm not sure what I'd do.

I gave Eman a quick message. I wanna see what he thinks, and see if we both agree. I think that would probably be one way to give you an idea of what you may talk to your doc about :)

How's Luvox side effect wise?

Ok,..Hi Cat Hi Jesse!!
I think that you should ask your Doc about added in some Abilify...IMHO
That is the designed and intended purpose in the Abilify medication where as an anti-depressant is still leaving one in a depressed state of mind...
That would be the first thing I would ask for, and it comes in 2mg tablet, and you can break them in half and start at 1mg if you wish too....
It is a very good medication for some, and I literally love it myself...Try that FIRST...
Then if that doesn't lift the black cloud, then go for the 200mg total of the Luvox...which is really good for depression btw...
Then if NONE of this works, go for a switch and ask for simple old Prozac...it will lift the depressive symptoms and also helps with ocd, anxiety too...

There's my thoughts and opinions....
Good to see you both!!

Enduronman.. :)

And now that I lost my job I am thinking maybe this is my chance (while i have time off) to get off all my meds. I am so much happier without that job so maybe I should take this opportunity to get off meds? Ehhhhh I can't decide. I don't want to be on meds forever.

How's your mood AC, still good?

You're right, if you wanted to withdraw meds, whilst you aren't working is always a good time.

Jesse!!!! I thought of you this morning, because guess what? I meditated for 3 minutes!!!!!! Gotta start somewhere, right? Mood is okay. Ups and downs still. Thanks for asking, pal.
